_____ Membership with INDSTT _____
Society is
formed by its general body, which include stakeholders from different walks of
Trenchless and allied fields. The general body consists of the following
categories of members:
1.
Founder Members
2.
Institutional Members
3.
Individual Members
4.
Professional Members
5.
Associate Member / Student / Research Members
6.
Fellow / Hon. Fellow Members
7.
Patron Members
Every
person or organization desirous to be enrolled as member of the Society has to
apply in the prescribed form to the council. The admission is subject to
satisfaction of the conditions of eligibility stipulated for each category. Such
application are considered and approved or disapproved by the council on such
terms and conditions as per the rules in force on the merit of each individual
application.
1.
Founder Member
Persons
who have taken active interest and made efforts to the setting up the Society
and admitted at the time of formation and commission of the Society are termed
as founder members. Admission to this category is now closed.
2.
Institutional Member
Institutional members comprise of organizations / companies / firms /
associations / societies who have rendered or are rendering services to
Trenchless Technology for at least 5 consecutive years or are connected with
objects of the society as in the opinion of the Council are eligible to be
admitted in the Society as “Institutional Members”. Admission to this category
is open to bodies meeting the conditions stipulated above.
A further
grouping of such members is as follows:
(i) Research
Institute, Academic Institution, Municipal Corporation, Water Works, Various
Councils / Societies, small business organizations with turnover up to Rs. 5
crores per annum.
(ii) Business Entities with turnover more than Rs. 5 crores per annum, PSUs,
Govt. Organizations like Army, Border Roads Organization, NHAI, Ministries,
Electricity Boards, Telecom Companies etc.
The
organizations interested to join are required to pay the joining fee and the
Annual / One time membership fee as fixed by the Council from time to time.
Members shall be entitled to nominate one representative who fulfills the
eligibility conditions of a Professional member. The said representative shall
be entitled to attend the meetings of the General Body.
3. Individual Members
Next
category of members is individual Member. Every person for election as an
Individual Member or transfer from the class of Associate Member or Student
Research Member is required to possess the following qualifications:-
i) Shall
be a graduate in any discipline:
ii) Shall have attained the age of 30 years on the date of his application:
iii) Shall have been engaged at least for 5 years in a supervisory or
managerial capacity work connected with Trenchless Technology or he shall have
rendered at least 10 years of service in a senior position of responsibility in
Central / State Govt. / Public Under takings/ Autonomous bodies:
iv) Shall obtain recommendation by a minimum of 2 members of the Society.
4.
Professional Members
Aside from
Founder, Institutional and Patron members, the INDSTT will have body of members
constituting a family of professionals duly qualified, admitted and recognized.
Such professionals will be engaged in the application of core discipline which
INDSTT stands for and will promote. The areas of activity will be commercial as
well as academic, research and promotion of INDSTT.
Whereas
the admission to professional membership over a period will be only through
examination requirements and continuation of such membership will be subject to
Continuing Professional Development Programmes and compliance to professional
conduct and discipline, to start with and over a period of not exceeding two
years from the date of first meeting of the Council, the Society will have
assembly of individuals as members admitted based on their qualification,
experience in commerce and industry, academics and interest in promoting INDSTT.
Such assembly of individuals will meet the criterion and procedures as under;
A.
Initial Fellow Members (F INDSTT) – to be admitted without Examination process
(i)
All such members will be Fellow members.
(ii)
Admission will be one-off admission within a limited time span of one year from
the date of first Council meeting.
(iii)
The number of such members would be limited to 200.
(iv)
Such members will have professional or other appropriate qualification and
should be engaged in areas of activity either commercial or academic, such as;
o
Qualified
engineers and members of engineering related professional bodies.
o
Individuals having experience in Trenchless Technology.
o
Other
individuals expected to contribute to the promotion of INDSTT.
(v) All
such admissions will be on payment of Admission fee, as determined by the
Council.
(vi)
Such members will be entitled to use of designatory letter F INDSTT.
B.
Classes of Membership by Examination
In
addition to the initial class of Fellow members and Honorary Fellow members and
other members as described earlier, the INDSTT will have the following classes
of members;
(a)
Student Professional Member
Persons
meeting certain criterion as determined by the Society and wanting to pursue
studies for qualifying as Trenchless Technologist will be admitted as student
members. Student members will not be entitled to use any designatory letters and
will not have voting rights.
(b) Fellow
Member
On
completion of all the examinations as prescribed and on meeting requirements of
“appropriate experience” as specified by the Council if any, the student member
will be admitted as Fellow member and will be entitled to use the designatory
letter F INDSTT and professional title to Trenchless Technologist
(c) Affiliate
Professional Member
Persons
who are equivalently qualified by examination from professional bodies of
jurisdictions outside or in India may work in India or may work outside India in
areas of activity related to India. Such persons subject to meeting specified
appropriate minimum period of one year experience, may on application and
payment of required fee as determined by the Society, be admitted as Fellow
members of INDSTT. However, till Fellowship is granted after completion of at
least one year of appropriate experience, such members will be admitted as
Affiliate Individual Members.
The
Affiliate Individual Members will not be entitled to use any designatory letter
or title of Trenchless Technology and will not have voting rights. However, such
members will have all benefits which otherwise accrue to a Fellow members and
will be subject to its code of conduct and discipline.
5.
Affiliate / Student / Research Members
Similar to
Examination class of Professional members this category of members comprise of
developing Trenchless Professionals. Broadly it is of two types:
a)
Affiliate Member
Persons
who are under training to be equivalently qualified by examination from
professional bodies of jurisdictions outside or in India may apply for Affiliate
membership if they are inclined to pursue activities related to Trenchless
Technology in India or abroad. Such persons may on application and payment of
required fee as determined by the Society, be admitted as Affiliate members of
INDSTT. However, till Individual membership is granted subject to attainment of
necessary experience after completion of the educational course, such members
will be admitted as Affiliate Individual Members.
The
Affiliate Individual Members will not be entitled to use any designatory letter
or title of Trenchless Technology and will not have voting rights. However, such
members will have all benefits which otherwise accrue to a Fellow members and
will be subject to its code of conduct and discipline.
b)
Student Member / Research Member
Persons
pursuing courses leading to attainment of Professional Qualifications by virtue
of which the individual can have understanding of Trenchless Technology
techniques and is interested to practice as a Trenchless Technology professional
after education may apply for Student / Research Membership of the Society. Such
persons may on application and payment of required fee as determined by the
Society, be admitted as Student / Research members of INDSTT. However, till
Individual membership is granted subject to attainment of necessary experience
after completion of the educational course, such members will be admitted as
Student Individual Members.
The
Student Individual Members will not be entitled to use any designatory letter or
title of Trenchless Technology and will not have voting rights. However, such
members will have all benefits which otherwise accrue to a Fellow members and
will be subject to its code of conduct and discipline.
6.
Fellow / Hon. Fellow Members
Every
person for election as a Fellow Member or by transfer from the class of
Individual Members to Fellow Members shall satisfy the Council that he fulfils
the followings conditions:
(a) Shall have attained the age of 35 years on the date of enrolment of transfer:
(b)
Shall have been engaged for at least 10 consecutive years and have held senior
positions of responsibility satisfactory to the council in administering,
managing, conducting, operating or carrying of any of the branches of trenchless
technology or works connected therein:
(c) Shall have made special contribution to the development of trenchless technology
in any of its branches:
(d)
Shall obtain nomination for election as a Fellow by a minimum of three Fellow
Members and in such form and subject to such conditions, as the council may from
time to time determine:
(e) A
person who, either on account of his position, or of his eminence in science,
engineering and industry and commerce and his interest in matters relating to
the profession of Trenchless Technology, appears to the Society to be able to
render assistance in promoting the objects of the Society, and who even if not
professionally engaged in practice of Trenchless Technology, shall be eligible
for admission by the Council as an Honorary Fellow Member. On admission such
member can use the designatory letter of Hon. F INDSTT. All such Honorary
members shall have the privilege of attending Annual General Body Meetings and
Ordinary General Body Meetings and may take part thereat in the discussions
following the reading of papers, memoirs, letters or other contributions, but
shall not be eligible to vote in any affairs of the Society where any decision
by voting is mandated. All such admissions by the Council will be in accordance
with procedures as fellows;
(f)
The Honorary Fellowship will be by admission at the sole discretion of the
Council.
i) No
entry or membership fee will be charged.
ii) The
number of such members will at no stage be more than 5% of Professional Fellow
members.
iii) The
Honorary Fellow members will have no voting rights, if such rights are conferred
on other classes of members, and also will not be entitled to serve in the
Council.
iv) The
Honorary Fellow members will be associated in various committees of the Council
in “Advisory” or “Invitee” capacity.
7.
Patron Member
Person or
persons of high eminence interested in the activities of the Society may be
requested by the council to be the patron of the Society to enhance the dignity
and respect of the Society by the benign presence and status in the Society to
enable it to fulfill its objects. The patron may attend the meetings of the
general body but shall have no right to Vote.
General
The
Individuals interested to join are required to pay the joining fee and the
Annual / One time membership fee as fixed by the Council from time to time.
Members shall be entitled to attend the Annual General Body Meetings and
Extraordinary General Meetings or nominate their representatives who fulfill the
eligibility conditions of a Professional member. The said representative shall
be entitled to attend the meetings of the General Body. Voting rights however
shall be subject to individuals’ voting right.
