Report
on No Dig India Show 2008 |

Between
15th & 17th May 2008, IndSTT, supported
by several associate organizations, had organized
No Dig India Show 2008 at India Habitat Centre,
New Delhi.
The
show had 4 sub events, Starter Master Class,
Exhibition, Conference & Advanced Master
Classes.
The
cumulative delegate numbers in these four
sub-events was 563 participants from different
streams of Trenchless Technology Industry
coming from both India as well as overseas.
Detailed hereunder are the sub-events of No
Dig India Show 2008.
The
event was sponsored in different categories
are listed in Table
I.

| Starter
Masterclass |
One
day I, we had the starter master class that
was completely sold out with 30% extra registrations
over the planned seating & additional
seating had to be organized. During the class
different topics covering issues like theory
& basics of techniques, factors impacting
technique selection, site investigation guidelines,
equipment selection guidelines, project design
guidelines, site supervision guidelines and
economics contractual issues pertaining to
Moling, Pipe Ramming, Horizontal Directional
Drilling, Utility Tunnelling, Microtunnelling
& Pipe Jacking, Pipe Bursting & Rehabilitation
Techniques were explained to the participants
by the sector specialists, both from India
as well as overseas. A detailed presentation
set is being provided to the participants

IndSTT for a copy of reference material. |

| Exhibition |
From
the same day, Product/Service Display also
started. This was equally successful as the
stands had a huge footfalls beyond their expectations.
There
were 29 different organizations displaying
their products / services during the exhibition
at two levels. A list of the such organizations
is in Table
II. As per the reports substantial
business was conducted during the sub event.

| Conference |
On
day II we had the conference & the exhibition
where delegate members surpassed the previous
day’s attendance & both the conference
hall as well as the exhibition had larger
foot falls beyond expectation.
Conference
started with the Welcome Address delivered
by Mr. Chander Verma, Chairman, IndSTT, Mr.Christian
Weise, Director Marketing, Digital Control
Inc. addressed the audience afrerwards. After
the addresses ‘Schedule of Rates’,
‘Basics of Trenchless Technology’
& ‘No Dig India Journal’,
were released by the Dr. Tapodhir Bhattacharjeee
V.C. Assam University. These three books were
gladly accepted by the audience.
After the book release we had Shri R.N. Mathur
Memorial Award ceremony that we had organized
jointly with the Worldwide Machinery Solutions
in the memory of Shri R.N. Mathur, a stalwart
of Trenchless Industry of India, who had contributed
a lot to the development of Industry. The
award was given away to M/s Vichitra Constructions
Pvt. Ltd., for their innovative approach in
developing trenchless solution for critical
bore sewer installation.
Further,
to sensitize professionals about new developments,
four sessions was conducted i.e. Advancement
in HDD Techniques, Trenchless Technology Application
in JnNURM, Trenchless Technology & Equipment
& the code of practice and Schedule for
rates. A paper presentation list is detailed
in Table
III.
The
event also saw the introduction of the first
unit of VBM D35X45, the all new Vermeer Budgetary
Drill, which was specially air lifted for
the show. |

| Advanced
Masterclasses |
On
Day III, We had started Advanced Master Classes.
The Cumulative delegate members on this day
was 83 which was way beyond the registrations
& alternate lecture hall had to be arranged
to accommodate the delegates. The main topics
of discussion were Utility Tunneling, Advanced
Tracking, Microtunneling and Pipe Jacking,
industrial applications for Trenchless Technology
and Pipe Bursting.
